Description:
MEPRALIN is Omeprazole, a substituted benzimidazole which is an inhibitor of gastric acid secretion. Omeprazole does not exhibit anticholinergic of H2-histamine antagonistic properties, but inhibits the secretion of gastric acid by blocking the H+/K+ATPase (hydrogen-potassium-adenosine triphosphatase) enzyme system, the so-called “proton pump” of the gastric parietal cell. Indicated for duodenal and gastric ulcer, NSAID-associated complications, peptic ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, acid reflux disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, prevention of acid aspiration syndrome, and acid related dyspepsia. Available in Aluminum Foil Strip of 4’s; Box of 20’s.
