Description:
GALEMIN is Clarithromycin, an antibiotic of the macrolide family and is a semisynthetic derivative of erythromycin. It exerts its antibacterial action by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria and suppresses protein synthesis. It is highly effective against a wide variety of aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Given in the treatment of respiratory tract infections and in skin and soft tissue infections. Also used in the treatment of leprosy and for prophyaxis and treatment of opportunistic mycobacterial infections. Available in 250 mg and 500 mg Film Coated Tablets in blister packs of 4’s; Box of 28’s.
